As the Moderator of this Forum I am concerned about copyright laws being bent if not broken.   It is a very grey area as I am sure you are all aware.   Virtually all books have a notice to the effect that copies or extracts may not be made without written approval.   Photographs are also copyright: I am not sure of the current law but it was that they were in copyright until 75 years after being first published.

Although it is doubtful it would be picked up, a recent posting shows copies of locomotive photographs and drawings which appear to have been taken from  a book.   I believe we should act within the spirit of the law and not just stick to the letter as several other people of late, from that “other place,” have done.

No more postings including copies from copyright sources, please.

Regards,

Peter Bloomfield
