Membergroup Access Rights

It has, unfortunately, become necessary to tighten the forum security a little, in view of recent inappropriate postings by 'spammers'.

To prevent abuse of the 'personal message' system and the upload of images, etc. by those seeking to exploit your Forum, I have implemented the following changes.

1) New members will be placed in a basic 'Forum Member' group when signing up and will remain in that group until four postings have been made (this is to ensure that there is a genuine G3 interest before being 'moved up' to the next membergroup at the fourth posting).

2) When the fourth posting has been made, a member will move to 'Group A Forum Member' classification (signified by a single yellow 'star')

The purpose of this arrangement is to implement restrictions whereby a new member cannot immediately send 'personal messages' or upload files before proving an interest in G3.

I am sorry it has been necessary to impose these inconvenient restrictions upon new those members with a genuine interest in G3 but the quality of the forum could suffer without them.
The only alternative would be to withdraw the 'automatic' registration system and introduce a manual system where all applicants have to be 'approved' before being granted access.
