A common sleeper/timber/earth/ballast stockade stop block.

The sleeper and earth/ballast filled buffer stop block was a universal type found almost anywhere in sidings, loco depots, etc.
Would you have a use for a ready-to-paint heavy casting of such a type?
It is envisaged that it would have a recess in the top where real scale ballast can be placed (rather than a simulated ballast finish to the casting).
This does not mean that the rail-built stop is not going ahead, it is an additional option.

The cheapest most cheerful readily available ready built stockade buffer stop for G3 has got to be the LGB model. OK I know it is made of glossy plastic and very "foreign" and toy trainy but after applying acrylic paint, dulled down & weathered with a bit of undergrowth on it works well for me.  Less than a fiver if you are averse to buying new. I will upload a photo into the gallery soon to show what can be done "before & after ".

These can also be made rather realistically from wood...

I have made four of these using timber collected from rocket sticks after bonfire night or B&Q sell suitable wood that can be built using a water proof PVA glue and then covered in  a creocote wood preserver.  Looks just the part.
